Hello to every one. Yesterday I tried to update my kernel ... The steps I made are the following :
Before all, I renamed the directory /lib/modules/2.3.7-10/ with 2.3.7-10.old Then: # make config # make clean # make dep # make bzImage # make modules # make modules_install #make install And then I change /etc/lilo.conf as follows: image = /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.19 But, after I reboot there is : Can't open: lib/modules/2.4.7-10/modules.dep Because I renamed 2.4.7-10.old But why there is not any the systems does not look for /lib/modules/2.4.19 ??? and why there is only " initrd-2.4.7-10.img " and not " initrd-2.4.19.img " ?
