Well, the saga continues.
I tried connecting with pppsetup from Linuxberg.com. After answering all
that correctly, and editing the resolv.conf to have the proper DNS
numbers, and editing /etc/ppp/options to remove the usepeerdns line, it
still wouldn't connect.
I do have ELN/name in properly

For anyone else looking for info for future reference, the settings were basic.
I put in the 3 DNS addresses, used PAP to connect, and the one thing that has
been a thorn in my side`
Failure: System must have XFree86 installed.
