I see all you people talking about "Linux cannot
recognize that I have 128 MB of RAM" My question is,
where do you see how much RAM Linux does recognize.
I'd like to know if my 128 MB of RAM is being
detected.
thanks

Ok, so I mentioned earlier I had problems with my SB
Live! I have Mandrake 6.1 and tried to recompile the
kernel to version 2.2.5 (Creative told me their beta
drivers worked for only this version).
Anyway, the compilation seemed like a success. Then I
rebooted, and I got in, but nothing
So I guess Mandrake 7.02 supports the SB Live! I have
6.1 and it doesn't. I also screwed up LiLo or
something when I tried to recompile the kernel. If
anyone gets their SB Live working under 6.1 without
having to recompile to the 2.2.5 version of the
kernel, let me know.

I've been playing with 6.1 for about 2 months now,

The Ensoniq was happily
supported under 6.1 and a call to 'sndconfig' sorted

can't. Here they are:
1.) When I click on the K icon at the bottom of the
screen and go to the Utilites menu, there are many
items in it. So many items that it goes off the
bottom of my
Hi, I have a question on compiling the kernel. I
think I did it right. I got a file called vmlinuz in
the right place. But where do I put it? Where is my
current vmlinuz? Maybe in the /boot directory? which
is the only place that I've found it so far.

Ok, so I'm having problems configuring my modem. I'm
pretty sure it's not a win-modem because I just
replaced my win-modem with a nice US Robotics
Sportster 56K Fax-modem. Blah blah blah etc.
Anyway, I am using kPPP to set it up but I have no
idea which driver to use. /dev/modem looked nice
