So I guess Mandrake 7.02 supports the SB Live! I have 6.1 and it doesn't. I also screwed up LiLo or something when I tried to recompile the kernel. If anyone gets their SB Live working under 6.1 without having to recompile to the 2.2.5 version of the kernel, let me know. --- Joe Knapp

Hi, I have a question on compiling the kernel. I think I did it right. I got a file called vmlinuz in the right place. But where do I put it? Where is my current vmlinuz? Maybe in the /boot directory? which is the only place that I've found it so far. James

Ok, so I'm having problems configuring my modem. I'm pretty sure it's not a win-modem because I just replaced my win-modem with a nice US Robotics Sportster 56K Fax-modem. Blah blah blah etc. Anyway, I am using kPPP to set it up but I have no idea which driver to use. /dev/modem looked nice
