[newbie] Mandrake 7.1 and Ensoniq Audio PCI

Loaded Mandrake 7.1 and my sound has some cracking in the background. I have two drives, one with win98 and other other with Mandrake 7.1 What do I have to tweak to make the cracking in the background go away? Cheers josh
