The 1800+ model number (it is _not_ the MHz speed) means this is as
fast or faster than a Pentium 4 going at 1800MHz.
I think the PR rating is the equivalent speed compared to the Thunderbird
based Athlons (the ones that went up to 1.4GHz. I think they may get into
hot water if they compared
if you load GIMP again you should see that it loads much faster then when it
did the first time, that's because of all the cache Linux is using.
