I had zero sound after I updated from 7.1 to 7.2. I ran "sndconfig" from a KDE terminal window. It gave me a warning about not running in window, but it worked fine. sndconfig set up my sound for both wav and midi in about a minute. Woo Hoo! Good Luck BTW I am running a Dual Pentium II
