I downloaded the mandrake 8.1 ISO from one of your
FTP sites. I used winimage to open the ISO and extract the contents to a empty
folder. I need burned all of the contents to a CD. When I try to boot from the
CD it tells me "searching for boot record" : None found
I can't seem to get this
I have a few things to add in response to angry responses born from this
particular thread. How can we know we are going less we understand where we
came from? It is by which we take ideas and concepts already realized to
found better and greater ideas.

Well, you can download SB Live! drivers from www.creativehelp.com , unfortunately this
did not work for me in Mandrake 7.1.
However, this is how I did get it
running. I installed Mandrake 7.1 normally and let it autodetect my
soundcard. It worked womewhat
Then I ran "sndconfig"

No kidding. Xerox has come up with some of the most advanced ideas in our
century. They also developed the ethernet, in part with DEC and Intel (Or

I've had a 3c905c NIC running with the 3c59x driver under RH6.1. You might
try that as a work-around.

There's everything you want to know about how the GUI was born. Including

I am having one heck of a time getting my 3com 3c905c-TX Fast ethernet XL
card to work with Mandrake linux 7.1. It detects it when the kernal
initially loads but it is not shown in HardDrake. I've downloaded linux
drivers from 3com but when I try to compile them I get alot of errors,
