[newbie] Install Mandrake 7.2 over 8.0

I am currently downloading Mandrake 8.  I have Mandrake 7.2 installed dual
boot using Lilo with Win2K default... can I simply install Mandrake 8 over
7.2 and maintain Lilo.cnf or will it overwrite this file
