Hi, I've gor a Brother 1040. Linux installed the HPIIP driver, which it emulates, but I always get the top 0.5 cm chopped off the page. Does anyone have a solution to this? Will CUPS fix it do you think? I have a funny feeling that the HPIIP has a different paper path and can't print the

[newbie] Staroffice keeps installing and wont run

Hi, I've installed staroffice using rpmandrake. Its installed in opt/stoffice52_en (or something like that) but when I click on the menu item in KDE (or try to run it on the command line) the silly thing installs itself again! And if I try to run it from the new installation, it installs

[newbie] Boot magic not so magical

Hi, I've followed all the install instructions carefully, told the right partition to lilo etc. but when I boot from the HD I get BTMAGIC.IMG not found and then windows boots by default. Anyone else had this problem or know a solution? Samantha
