[newbie] telnet problem

I have installed Linux-Mandrake 6.0 on a computer I intend to use as a web server. Everything is going great except for one thing. I CAN'T TELNET INTO THE SYSTEM I can't figure out how it happened. I did the update and ten the problem started. Can anyone help me??? Thanks,
