I did that same thing on a 6.0 installif you're on a network you're
home free. I telnetted to the Mandrake box, Su'ed to root then edited the
XF86Config file remotely. Of course in my case I knew exactly what I had
changed to make it unbootable so it was easy. If you don't know what to

You should probably do more than 'glance' at the how-to files for Samba.
Most *nix apps require more effort than that. Having said that, there is
a great book out called 'Teach Yourself Samba in 24 Hours'. I Have it and
its a good read. Samba comes with several quite detailed sample smb.conf
files
On FreeBSD I put 'exec startkde' in .xinitrc and then just run xinit from
the console. Linux should be the same in that respect since X is X.
