I usually boot to runlevel 3. Login and use Xtart to start X. So far everything is OK. When I use this sequence from X I end up at the login promt as expected but the fonts is really big and its floating allover the screen so it's impossible to do anything. I can do a Ctrl+Alt+F7 to go back to X

My internet provider has changed to DHCP unfortunatley. When I want to switch to my windowscomputer(for games) I have to wait maybe 2 ours before I can get the connection to work. I cant get my ip from dhcp because It's locked to the linuxcomp's nic-adress. It's dhcp but I will get the ip is locke

[newbie] easy to install audiorecording software

Hello. Looking for audiorecordingsoftware, found ardour and Audacity. It just seems so difficult to install them, the need a lot of packages and I cant find all. I can (sometimes) manage urpmi but definitley not the compiler(this is my third week using linux. Anyone using theese programs that c
