[newbie] SMB problems

I have installed SMB and it works fine except one minor thing. When I boot the box the link light goes out after a few seconds. I have not been able to narrow it down to what kernel is loading at the time when it goes out but I think it about the same time my ET0 loads. Any Ideas running 6.0 Re
