first thanks for the correct command line for true color which was startx -- -bpp 32 modem question using kpp using mandrake 5.2 I changed it to com2(cua1) in settings in linux and it came up with a screen that said modem ready but then nothing happened the dialup box froze this is

using mandrake 5.2 with susconfig and renditon rpm from xservers from mandrake cd I have a diamond stealth s220 and it says its capable of running in 16 and 24 bpp but it always shows in 8 bpp i tried running startx --bpp 16 but that didnt work either also when i try to dial it always
