Then service nfs restart.
In order to run NFS, you must also run portmap. Before you try
a network
drive in windows? If it can be done..can someone point me in the right
direction.

I have 2 drives in my machine. A DVD and a Burner. I can burn with the
burner and watch dvd's with my dvd drive. I can even burn an Audio cd from
the burner with MP3's and when I go to listen to it. I can't.
Is there something special that needs to be setup to read audio cd's?
h3rb
will not see the cd
at all.

Look in your /var/log/samba log and see why it's not starting. When it says
it's not running. Is this from SWAT? Or from the command line. SWAT Always
tells me that my smb server is not running, even though it is.

NO one is gonna find any modem there...There is none listed. And it says
most winmodems, however some are supported.
MODEM:
Most modems and ISDN adaptors are supported. Most Win-modems are NOT
supported.

You have to get a HARDWARE Modem or a
this through windows. On my work windows machine I use a combination of
SecureCRT and Reflective X. SecureCRT is a windows ssh/telnet client and
Reflective X is a windows X server. Now if you are on dial up I do not
suggest doing this because it consumes alot of bandwidth.

Sure. You can use Samba.

Or you can setup a simple FTP daemon. A very easy to compile/configure/use
ftpd is pureftpd. www.pureftpd.org
