[newbie] Cruddy little laptop

I'm trying to get a Linux distribution on a cruddy little laptop (486 w/4 meg RAM 200 MB HDD) and I'm having some problems. 1. no CD-ROM 2. no NIC 3. no easy method of installing Linux from floppies. Now I could use LOAF, but I'd like to not need a boot disk. I'm basically looking for a
