[newbie] ftp

i would like to set my machine up as an ftp server. any suggestions on which package to use or where to find guidance?

ive downloaded suns sdk and cant seem to get the path set right. probably because i dont really understand the whole path concept so if you have a good source of information re: paths or more specifically have installed suns free jdk, could you drop me a line? thanks.
