I would actually like to figure out how make Windows *bootable* again. It
doesn't seem to boot even if I choose the Windows option from the
startup screen.

There are two things I have noticed about Linux.
1) An inherent cheekiness in the documentation.
2) The assumption that you know what you are doing.

keep poking buttons until you figure it out. With Linux that approach
