I am installing Mandrake 8.1 now on my HP Pavilion. I still don't know if it will be successful or not, but the installer seems to be happily installing all the packages. I started with two partitions on my hard drive: one for Windows 98 and one for Windows 2000. I decided I could get along with

There are two things I have noticed about Linux. 1) An inherent cheekiness in the documentation. 2) The assumption that you know what you are doing. It has been said that with windows, it something doesnt work you can just keep poking buttons until you figure it out. With Linux that approach
