[newbie] AMD Chips and Linux

I noticed on the AMD web site there are drivers to make Win2K work with an AMD
based board - AGP, EIDE, ChipSet, etc... Are such drivers needed for Mandrake
7.2?

The new AMD 761 chip set just came out, for the on chip cache vs L2 cache
CPU's. That is the type of board I am thinking to get... since my current
favorite SuperMicro's latest board (Intel 815 based) only has two PCI slots...
they dumped the 5 slot version. I need three PCI slots min for: sound,
ethernet, and SCSI.
