I need some help.
At work i've have been using linux 7.2
without any problems. I have a old alpha computer 800 5/333 that has not
been use for approx a year. I have downloaded a copy of linux for
alpa server. Burn it to a cd. then tryed to install that
software. I never play with a alpha server before. this is what
i have done so far.
Boot the machine while the middle button is
press. this brings me to a prompt.
i type
boot dka400 -fl 0
the machine reboots.
when the computer beeps i press the middle button
again. this time the computer starts to load linux mandrake for
alpha. when it get the loading second stage ramdisk. it load approx
1/3 of the way then stops.
the computer has the following.
alpha server 800 5/33
512 mg of memory
qlogic scsi board
any help on loading linux.
