I would very much appreciate help getting netatalk to work with Mandrake 7. I have intalled from the ISO CD image. Unfortunately, that CD does not contain a version of netatalk. I therefore downloaded and installed the RPM package listed in the Mandrake WWW site. The package appears to install and run correctly. In fact, one can see the Mandrake machine as an AppleShare server from my Macintosh's Chooser. Unfortunately, I cannot succeed in logging into it, no matter what username and password I try. (I *can* successfully connect as Guest if I enable a guest directory.) It seems as though the problem must be a disconnect between the way Mandrake and netatalk are treating passwords, probably to do with the "shadow" password system. I would very much appreciate help curing this problem.
