I recently upgraded my CPU from a Celeron 400 to a P3 500E Coppermine. I have 2 hard drives. The Primary Slave had Mandrake 7.0 installed on it. Due to some issues when I upgraded my CPU, I reinstalled Win 98. Following the reinstall, I could not access Linux. I tried to run the install for 7.0. After hitting enter on the first screen, it goes black and computer no longer responds. I thought that perhaps what was already on the HD was interfering with it so I totally reformatted that drive in DOS. I ran fdisk/mbr on my main drive and am still having this problem. Could this be BIOS related or CPU related? Any clues???
