[newbie] Can't start KDE 2.2.2

Hello all, I've installed KDE 3.0 in /opt/kde3 and now I can't start KDE 2.2.2. The graphical login window has two inputs for kde, KDE and KDE3 and both lead me only to kde3. I can only start kde 2 as root, typing xinit /usr/bin/startkde. It doesn't work when I log as a normal user. Xtart also
