I am about to be given an Eagle TR-3 tape drive, I've got the instructions (but not been allowed to get the spanners on the old machine it's coming out of yet) The instructions describe it as being suitable for Win3.1, Win95 & Dos, it can be connected to either the floppy controller or by using something called the Eagle Acclerator which appears to be either a PCI or an ISA card (not clear in the diag) The question is will it work with the only proper OS, i.e. Linux and specifically MD7.2 and assuming I have the choice of stealing the Eagle accelerator card when I take the drive out of the box, does anybody know anything about this card ? If I don't get the card will it work from the floppy controller ? Thanks
