Ya intentaste con soundconfig?, si tu tarjeta esta soportada por el ess driver esta deberia de ser la solucion mas sencilla, sin embargo no todas las tarjetas estan soportadas por este driver, existen 2 drivers alternativos uno de ellos ha sido mensionado varias veces en la lista pero es de
