Check the /var/spool/lpd folder - where you will find the name of your printer - go into that folder and you SHOULD see some print jobs in there - turn off your printer, delete the spool files, and then reboot. After reboot, turn on your printer and the garbage should be gone now. Sounds like there was a problem getting the proper driver or manager running for that printer...
