[newbie] How to configure X Windows for HP Omnibook XE?

Hello,

I need help to configure X Windows on my HP Omnibook XE Laptop with
Silicon Motion LynxE PCI adapter. Currently, it running in 320x200 x 8
mode. I want to run it in 800x600 x 16 or 24mode. Please help!
