Hi fellow Mandrakers, Installed Mandrake 8. Detected all my hardware. Even the onboard SCSI adapter (that is disabled in BIOS - since *not* used). Message (prior to error): scsi0: Adaptec AIC7xxx <yada, yada, yada> aic7880: single channel a, scsi id=0, 16/255 scbs ERROR (follows): VFS: Cannot open root device "2105" or 21:05 please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 21:05 System stops booting after the error! I *feel* certain it's trying to mount a filesystem on a scsi device (which there are none). Can someone tell me how to (permanently) remove the aic7xxx scsi controller module/driver? Is there a way to bypass this module/device when booting? Is there an interactive boot switch? Your help is greatly appreciated.
