I installed kde3,
into the old kde directory. It worked fine for 2 days, then after a reboot, the
/ partition was full. Luckly I had installed java in / so I moved it to /home,
and was able to boot my system. In the /proc directory I have a kcore file which
had grown to fill
kde3 is installed in /opt; if you have another partition different
with enough space (I had /usr) you must do as root:
1) mv /opt/ /usr/
2 ln -s /usr/opt/ /opt
Remember, change /usr for the partition you have with enough space
