[newbie] KPPP WAS working?!

OK, Ive installed Linux, and KPPP was working great. I could connect, and serf the net, and get EMAIL. Now, all of a sudden, it wont go past Initalizing modem during the connection? My device and everything is configured correctly, so why doesnt it work?
