I spend more time in Staroffice5.2 simply because I take my documents back to Word.
Kwork imports just fine and works quite well. But, the limited 'Save As' options
leaves me hanging when I want to take a document back to the office.

I've never used Kword, but before you pick a word processor, spend a
little time with AbiWord. It's at version 0.7.14 now, it's cross
platform, multilanguage (including Russian) and has an active
development community.
