Hi all, I'm trying to get my ESS ES1980 Maestro3 soundcard working with LM 7.1 (Kernel 2.2.15). I've established that I need to install ALSA sound drivers, and according to the web site, version 0.5.10b supports the maestro3 card. My problem is I've downloaded the package, compiled it up but when I run 'modprobe snd-card-maestro3' I get error messages: /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/snd-card-maestro3.o: init_module: Device or resource busy /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/snd-card-maestro3.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/snd-card-maestro3.o failed /lib/modules/2.2.15-4mdk/misc/snd-card-maestro3.o: insmod snd-card-maestro3 failed and in the /var/log/messages file: kernel: snd: unable to grab IRQ 0 for Maestro3 kernel: snd: maestro3: unable to grab IRQ 0 kernel: snd: Maestro3/Allegro soundcard not found or device busy I think this is probably a basic configuration problem with the kernel, but I'm not sure where to start. Any suggestions ? thanks, Colin
