Have a problem a need a little help. A friend is trying to install Linux on
his new board and everything goes swimmingly until X tries to start and then
it dies and gives a "no screens found" error.

I have tried editing fx86config manually to no avail. Has anyone got any
thoughts?

Here are the specs:
Asus CUSL2-C system board
Intel 815ep chipset.
Ati xpert2000 with Rage 128 chipset (I know this works with Mandrake, I'm
using it on my machine at this time)
256meg of Ram
15 gig Maxtor Hard drive

We've tried Mandrake 7.2, Corporate Server, 8.0 Beta 2 and nothing seems to
work. We've tried video cards that I've used in Linux before but none of them
seem to work. I know you will need more information, I'm just not sure what
is needed for sure.

There are no IRQ conflicts and we've tried installing with nothing but the
video card, disabled all the com ports and usb stuff, and still nothing. We
got the information for the monitor and entered it by hand and made sure we
had the right driver selected. I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
