Hi all,

I've setup Postfix on my Linux Mandrake 6.0 (plus patches) box, and it
can pass mail back and forth for my domain just fine. However, now I need
to look at the mail it's received, and I'm trying to use the built-in
POP3 server included with the dist.

None of my clients can hit that POP server. The appropriate line is
uncommented in /etc/inetd.conf. Port 110/TCP/UDP is listed in
/etc/services. 110/TCP responds to pinging. And the clients just report
"Failure to connect" or "Aborted due to a network error."

Those same clients can hit my AppleShare IP POP server, so I'm assuming
there's nothing wrong with the clients. My Postfix server on my Linux box
can accept mail from mail clients and send it to other domains, and it
can accept mail delivered to user accounts on that box.

Could the problem be users? I've added my test user to the group
"popusers". I assume nothing else needs to be done to set a user up on
mail. Correct?

Any ideas?

Thanks!
