Please forgive me, but I wanted to let you all know of some classes that I'm involved with offering in New York City. I'm involved with a volunteer Linux organization called New York Linux Scene (NYLXS) and we are offering Introduction to Perl classes starting tomorrow. Since we are a volunteer community organization, I wanted to let you know about what we are doing.
The information is below: http://www.nylxs.com http://www.sangretoro.net/NYLXS_Perl_1.ps ---- Perl 1 --- Our Introduction to Perl Programming class provides you with the training you need to understand and work productively with Perl. Special emphasis is given to proper, real-world program-ming techniques. The class is being taught by Ruben Safir, CEO of Brooklyn Linux Solutions, Linux and Perl instructor, and Golden Penguin winner. He has experience teaching at NYU, CUNY, and The New School. We are proud to be able to offer this class for the amazingly affordable price of $200! Other Linux training programs cover less material and charge over $2,300. Classes follow a lecture format, study groups will meet on the internet, and student space for discussion is provided via our NYLXS education mailing list. All homework is to be done on the NYLXS server. Students are highly encouraged to bring their laptops to class. Introduction to Perl 1 will cover: - Operators - Variables - Functions - Control Structures - Regular Expressions - Pattern Matching - Scope - Use of Subroutines - Object Oriented Programming Tuition is a donation of $200, which will help us find permanent office space, and help us cover costs in our education and lobbying preograms. _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
