this is originally from the celebrants list, i am posting it to the
community list as well to bring a few points up. if you deem it unwanted,
delete. if you deem it foolish, shoot the messenger. ;)

On Tuesday 04 June 2002 10:17 am, Andrew C. Millard did speak unto the
huddled masses, saying:

i think it is important that we encourage tolerance and interfaith style
cooperation. i think this has a chance to go a long way towards that goal.
it is very common among the christian community (likely others, but go with
what you know) for churchs to have a sort of partnership with each other.
various angelican orders and more liberal lutheran orders for example,
often come together to further various goals. there is a good deal of
common ground between various pagan, eastern, and mystical belief systems
and pantheism. i know that for example the Universal Pantheist Society
encourages a good deal of this type of dialog. what is the WPM doing in
this vein? what strategic relationships are we nurturing in other
communities? how many of us are pantheist/other? are we using it?

as for the relaton to the celebrants list, if we accept non-WPM members as
vouching for suitaility, should we not be encouraging them for other
reasons? and is this not a good oppertunity? many list participants have
mentioned having pagan or wiccan friends over to share cerimonies, should
we not return the favor? and make it "official" in the bargain?

just a few random thoughts.
