Glad to hear the instructions were of help !! A BIG word of warning though - consider carefully if the kernel upgrade will actually give you anything extra that you REALLY need or fix any problems that you REALLY need fixing. I recently learnt my first painful lesson in the 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' way of thinking. I upgraded to the 2.2.9-27mdk kernel - simply because i thought it would be nice to try the latest (that was when it was the latest from Mandrake !!). All of a sudden my SBLive stopped working. So i went back down to my previous kernel (and yes i did remember to do all the stuff with LILO), and it still didn't work. To cut a very long stroy short, i had to do a complete re-install to get things back to a working state. As i mentioned in another post yesterday, my kernel upgrade was a pointless excercise - no extra functionality, simply security fixes. My box is only ever connected to my laptop - never anything like the net as i don't have a modem in it. I beleive i don't pose much of a security threat to myself, so all i did was cause myself a lot of work !! Just my thoughts..... I now have CD > Audio, etc. But I would still like to upgrade to 2.2.10 tho...
