I am using Madrake 7.0 and it is working well. I have a SCSI CD-ROM
writer and a SCSI ZIP drive.

Mandrake used to recognize the CD writer correctly. I was using kernel
vmlinuz-2.2.14-1mdklinus. I was able to mount CDs on /dev/scd0.
With kernel vmlinuz-2.2.14-15mdk mounting CDs on SCSI was not
possible.

Then I was installing vmware on kernel vmlinuz-2.2.14-15mdk. After
that, even on vmlinuz-2.2.14-1mdklinus I was not able to mount
/dev/scd0 again. Also mounting my ZIP is not possible. This it was
Linux tells me:

****
[claus@tiger /dev]$ mount /mnt/zip
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/zip as a block device
       (maybe `insmod driver'?)
****

On startup kudzu was telling me that the CD-ROM writer and the ZIP
drive was removed, which is (I'm sure) not true. Even the computer
recognizes both devices on startup.

The mysterious thing is that both devices were recognized correctlly
when installing the system and it used to work...

PLEASE, GIVE ME SOME HELP...

Regards,
Claus.
