My tech helped me fix one problem (booting from the IDE vs SCSI -- turns out there was an option in BIOS I hadn't seen to tell the BIOS which device to boot from.) However, there's a more troubling and less easily fixed (afaik) problem with the kernel: If I try to boot from the SMP kernel so I
