dmesg output is also logged to /var/log/messages. If you want to save output from a command to a file, type " filename" after the command, eg: dmesg kernel.log And if it's just some stuff on screen you wish to copy into a file, just select the text you want to save with the mouse, open up

Is there a simple way to save to a file what a command like 'dmesg' gives me on the screen? Michael Coady
