Cheers for that, it's now up and running again.
Weird how it just decided to pack in (and exactly at the time when I rebooted
only to find that Linux had also decided to completely change my desktop style).
Anyway I changed the directory to /usr/local as you suggested and placed a link
in /usr/lib where it originally was and where netscape looks and now all is
back to normal.
Any offers on for how long?
