I would like to set path in the environment and can not seem to find it.. In my past (a long time ago!) you set path for the current shell by editing the .profile. Now under BASH I thought I read that there is supposed to be .bash file but I don't seem to have one.. Also I would like to

Hi Bruce, If you want to set the PATH for all users (present and future) you should look in the system-wide definition in /etc/profile. If you want to change it for a particular user, modify his $HOME/.bashrc or (better) $HOME/.profile. I hope this helps you Pablo I would like to set path
