If it is installed, you should have /usr/bin/minicom and /usr/bin/xminicom There was a mini_commander_applet there, no minicom or xminicom. If they are not there, try (as root, from an xterm) rpm -e minicom urpmi minicom Yes! That did it! Installed the very same one I was trying to
