I have just set up my own mail server using postfix, and it was running well until I decided to add filtering with amavis. This has resulted in outgoing mail being sent to 127.0.0.1, apparently because it is not being passed back from localhost after filtering.
Running /usr/sbin/amavisd debug finishes with :
Aug 23 21:57:39 horace.rj-il-butler.com amavisd[3978]: TROUBLE in pre_loop_hook: QUARANTINEDIR inaccessible, Permission denied: /var/spool/amavis/virusmails at /usr/sbin/amavisd line 4941.
Suicide () TROUBLE in pre_loop_hook: QUARANTINEDIR inaccessible, Permission denied: /var/spool/amavis/virusmails at /usr/sbin/amavisd line 4941.
I have reset permissions on /var/spool/amavis/virusmails (even to: drwxrwxrwx 2 amavis amavis 4096 Mar 25 04:06 virusmails ) with no change in the response.
Can anyone point out what I am not doing or doing wrong, or even where to look?
