Hi,

At one time yesterday I could get a connection to my vmware with windows 2000
Professional on it. I had to install samba on linux and share a folder. Now
it is gone again but it seems to be a smb.conf configuration issue.

But something else is interesting:

vmware says:
"Could not get host IP address to create unique Ethernet address.
Using randomly generated address (00:51:46:e5:fb:eb).
Ethernet address may possibly conflict with a virtual machine on another
host."

sambas >showmount< says:
showmount: can't get address for diana

when I use the text login and start with startx I get something similar from
XFree86

Gnome tells me something similar too when I start it

.... so what is this? Why can't LM8.2 resolve my address??

anybody got an idea?

Patrik
