Hi,

I'm new to mandrake (9.1) and facing a problem that does not occur on my OSX machine. I'm running a perl web interface on apache2. The script invokes an executable residing in /usr/local/bin. Now the script executes fine when run from commandline but troubles occur when run through a browser. I checked "su apache" and discovered that there is no way to execute programs from /usr/local/bin even with having set the proper permissions (world read and execute) on this directory.
As security on mandrake is still a black box to me i wonder if there is any "hidden" gadget preventing apache to execute anything outside the apache root directory.
As I said on OSX it worked fine, both from browser and commandline.

best regards
Tobias
