Another question, now that I'm commited to completely reassemble my desktop. I have two HDs, one CD reader and a CD ROM writer. Which is the best plan ? Put both HDs on the same channel, and the CDs on the other, or put the HDs as masters on each channel, and the CDs as slaves ? TIA, Ron the

IDE channels are not multi-tasking, so only one drive can be accessed at a time on one channel. I have 2 HDDs, a CD-ROM and a CD-RW drive. I have put my fastest and largest HDD (larger is usually faster) as the primary master. My other HDD is the secondary master. Fast hard drive access for me
