[newbie] deadkeys usage in keyboard layout.

Hi, I have a serious problem with keyboard usage. I cannot use the deadkeys on my keyboard (for foreign letters with accents). When I press such a key and after a vowel I get no char. I am pretty sure I checked to all possible places in my system . I have mandrake 9.1 (have posted in many places b
