I have mdk 8.2 with devfsd running. I have a parallel port scanner umax 2000p. For making it work, I need parport active. I have a parport0- device in /dev/ and no entry in /etc/modules conf. When I try to make parport0 dev in /dev I get error message as [root@localhost dev]# MAKEDEV parport MAKEDEV: error making /dev/parport0: File exists [root@localhost dev]# ls -l parport0 ls: parport0: No such file or directory [root@localhost dev]# ls -l parport0-* crw-rw---- 1 root lp 99, 0 Sep 9 2002 parport0- What to do to get parport working.
