Thanks for the hint. I don't have a turbo switch but by setting the PIO mode for the IDE channels in the BIOS setup screen I was able to boot. Now I am experimenting on how high I can set the PIO mode. So far I am up to PIO mode 3 no DMA for the hard drives PIO 0 no DMA for the CD-ROM. A cas

To everyone who had problems getting Venus to boot. I have mine booting perfectly now. Here's how it happened. I installed Venus and of course it hung at the "creating /mnt/disk" message. I don't know why (fate, maybe?) but I pressed the "TURBO" switch and it continued on. So I logged in as r
